Team Serpent Sweden driver Per Ola Hard dominated the seventh and final round of the Swedish Cup Series over the weekend taking his 720 08 to TQ honours and race victory.
After an amazing run from the quarter finals and overcoming a lost lap at the beginning of the hour long main final, young Italian Serpent 960 driver Andrea Cristiani has claimed the runner up spot at this years World Championships. Having had to pit early in the race for a tire related problem, caused by contact, Andrea rejoined over a lap down on the rest of the field and set about unlapping himself from the entire field, setting the fastest lap of the race by 2 tenths of a second on his way to 2nd. The Serpent team are at this years 1/8th scale World Championships in Cordoba Argentina and the event has gotten off to a very good start for the team with the first 2 rounds of qualifying complete and seeing 2 Serpent 960s at the head of the field. Overnight pole position belongs to Italian racer Massimo Fantini who set a time of 33L 10:09.45 in his second round of qualifying to go quickest and improve on his first round time by 1 second. Yuya Sahashi is the 2007 Japanese 1:8 National Champion. Racing over the weekend at Central Racing Park, the international racing star clinched the presitgious title in style winning the event with his Mega powered Serpent 960 '07 by almost a full lap.
On April 8th the Suwon circuit played host to the first of five Serpent Korea Cup races which are being support by full size car manufacturer Hyundai Motors.
Attracting 60 racers and organised by Serpent's Korean distributor the race was open to racers of all makes of 1:10 and 1:8 cars who were each given three 5-minute heats and a 30 minute final.
Special guests at the event were the famous Sahashi brothers from Japan along with new Serpent Driver Development signing Nam SangJun.

Not being able to do any nitro racing since September it was great to be on the track again. Starting my trip in Sweden with a quick stop at the Serpent factory in Holland on my way to Bangkok Thailand and the Serpent Asia Nitro Tour of 2007. While at the track it was great fun to meet up old friends again, especially the old buddies from Korea who I hadn't seen for several years! Also talking a lot with my good friends from Serpent Indonesia...
The first Serpent Nitro Tour of the 2007 season took place over the weekend in Bangkok, Thailand, with a massive 140 racers taking part in the hugely successful event.

The racers have all arrived and racing is now underway at the 2007 Nitro Tour in Bangkok, Thailand. Present at the event is Michael Salven who as well as being a competitor will also be giving tech talks and helping fellow competitors. We also have our National teams present from Korea, China, Thailand, Singapore as well as Japan, with the Sahashi brothers making the trip to the event.
